I am not a good teacher

I think I am not a good teacher. I realized that my students made a lot of mistakes after marking their books.
I think I am not a good teacher because I don't mark their book often. I join TFM to be a different teacher, but I can't even fulfil the basic responsibility of a teacher.

Grateful

I am always grateful for being accepted into TFM because I feel that I am not worth it, I am not good enough, I am not a leader.
Thus, I am grateful for every opportunity given to me.

Criticism

(1) Criticism is addictive, because it can turn you away from your own faults and breeds a spirit of self-righteousness and intolerance.

(2) Criticism diverts an extraordinary amount of time and energy away from the positive preaching of Christ.

(3) Criticism stirs up divisiveness and disunity among Christians.

Be a DIFFERENT teacher

Luke 6:32-
If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return.

As a teacher, it is normal to love those students who follow your instructions, who do their homework and who are polite. The verses above really remind me not just be the normal teacher, who love these kind of students and pay more attention to them. Be a DIFFERENT teacher, a teacher who listen to them, who understand them and who will love them.

Reflection (6 April 2014)

Jesus is fully human. That’s why he experienced the same pain as us, and he can understand our pain.

It makes me think: as a teacher, do I understand my students? I couldn’t say I am in their shoes. Ya, but I need to put myself in their shoes, so that I can understand their struggle and then only I could say you can change it, isn’t?

Why do I join TFM?
-          I saw the effect of education inequity myself. It is not something that happened to other people and I felt pity seeing it but it happened in my family and around me. I saw it myself how education inequity affected a kid. I heard it from them and saw it in their eye when they don’t see hope in this world. Thus, I want to be part of the movement – to end education inequity. I am grateful that I can be part of it.

How can I be like Jesus, to understand my students’ struggle and tell them that they are able to change?

重新开始???

是重新开始吗?
还是只是逃避?
我始终没有走出来。
只不过用理想(漂亮的借口)来麻醉与欺骗自已。
阿爸啊!求求我吧!
